Just Love Forest membership Agreement
Welcome to Just Love, a community dedicated to nurturing the soul through nature, silence, service and community. This agreement outlines the terms of membership, benefits, rules, and responsibilities to ensure a harmonious and enriching experience for all members and their guests.
Your monthly support helps us tremendously to support the caretaking efforts required to keep the forest open throughout the weeks, March - December.
Membership Terms and Conditions
Membership Start Date:
To keep things simple and flexible, our memberships run on a rolling 30-day basis, starting from the day your first recurring monthly payment is processed. This way, you're always in control of your membership duration, and it's easy to keep track of your renewal dates.
Membership Types & Rates:
All the benefits and access for various types of members are the same. This approach is designed to align with your available resources, enabling you to support Just Love’s efforts in the most effective way possible as we work together towards our shared goals.
Founding steward members sliding scale: $25 - $50 per month (must have attended 3 events by January 2024 to qualify for this rate)
Steward Membership: $50 - $100 per month
Sustainer Steward Member: $100+ per month
Student Steward Member: $25+ per month
Children Under 18: Free when accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a member.
Membership Benefits
We would like to remind you that your monthly membership provides discounted rates for visits and events, honoring your commitment of monthly support. It's important to note, however, that the membership does not cover the full cost of every event you may wish to participate in. As you plan your experiences and consider your contributions towards supporting the forest, please keep these rates listed below in mind to understand the overall contribution that you’re able to make.
1. Reduced Rate Monthly Community Gatherings
- Members are invited to participate in monthly community retreats from March to November, offering a blend of relaxation, connection, and earth stewardship.
We're excited to offer a special weekend retreat for just $50 per member, covering activities from Friday to Sunday. This includes a meditation session on Friday, a service activity on Saturday, followed by a vibrant drum circle Saturday night, and a rejuvenating nature & forest therapy day retreat on Sunday. If you prefer a more customized experience, you can also choose any single event (meditation, drum circle, or forest therapy) for just $25, allowing you to design the perfect weekend according to your interests. Additionally, we're providing a delightful lunch option during the forest therapy day retreat for an additional $25, should you choose to join us for that meal. If you stay for the whole weekend and want to participate in lunch on Sunday, your total member cost is $75 + tax.
2. Day trips and Overnight Stays
Day Trips: Just $25 + tax per person per day (only applies if not staying overnight)
- Self Camping: Dive into the authentic experience for $25 + tax per person per night. You’ll provide all of your own gear. This contribution includes your day trip.
- Glamping: Elevate your stay with our glamping option in our canvas bell tents with plush mattresses for $50 + tax per person per night. If you would like sheet and towel service, that is $25 extra per tent. This contribution includes your day trip.
These days are generally open on certain non-retreat weekends (please inquire) and most weeks, Mon- Thurs.
3. Guest Privileges
- Members are welcome to bring up to two registered guests during non-retreat days to share in the joy of the forest, they’ll receive the same specially discounted member rates per person for day trips, self-camping, and luxury glamping. Guest discounts do not apply to community weekends or specialty retreats.
As a member, you’ll have the chance to share the beauty of nature with up to two guests, whether you're planning a refreshing day trip or an immersive overnight stay. Delight in specially accessible rates for you and your guests, plus any applicable taxes.
4. Discounts on Specialty Retreats:
- Enjoy a discounted $300 flat fee +tax on up to three specialty weekend retreats annually, with three exclusive spots reserved for members at each retreat on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact us via email to request space at these events: bala@justloveforest.com.
5. Hosting Personal Gatherings:
- Members have the unique opportunity to host their own small gatherings in our sacred space during weekends that don’t host retreats or weekdays for $100 per person per day +tax, subject to approval and alignment with community values. This includes stay in our available bell tents as well as use of the gathering yurt and outdoor kitchen.
Approved hosted gatherings held by members must align with the spirit of Just Love and are not open for public advertisement. Approval is required to maintain the sanctity and intentions of our shared space.
6. Member Conduct:
- Members and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that respects the natural environment, community values, and the personal boundaries of all participants.
7. Environmental Stewardship:
- Engagement in activities should enhance, not harm, the natural surroundings. This includes adhering to principles of leaving shared spaces better than you find them. Please take everything with you when you leave the forest.
8. Safety and Liability:
- Members participate in all activities at their own risk. Just Love is not liable for personal injuries or property damage arising from participation in retreats, activities, or guest visits.
- Members are responsible for their guests’ adherence to all terms and agreements and must ensure that they have properly registered before arriving, most importantly, signing the liability waiver before arriving at Just Love.
9. Activity Participation:
- Members and guests must follow all guidelines and instructions provided during activities to ensure safety and the integrity of the experience.
10. Reservation Requirement Clause:
The peace and preservation of Just Love Forest is a delicate balance, much like the scheduling of our visits. To ensure this balance remains undisturbed, we kindly ask that all visits to our beloved forest are planned in advance through a reservation. This helps us provide the best experience for everyone, ensuring that our forest remains a peaceful sanctuary for all members and our natural residents.
We understand that spontaneity in life is beautiful, but to protect the tranquility and sustainability of our forest, access without a prior reservation will regrettably lead to a cancellation of membership. This policy is in place to safeguard the serenity and structure of our community engagements, ensuring that every member has the opportunity to fully enjoy the magic of Just Love Forest under the best conditions.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our forest a harmonious haven for all. By making a reservation, you're not just planning a visit; you're ensuring it remains a beautiful, shared experience for everyone.
11. Guest Responsibility and Alignment Clause:
As members of Just Love Forest, you are the guardians of our sacred space, and we trust you to extend this guardianship to those you invite into our community. It's essential that every guest you bring resonates with the sanctity and values of our forest, contributing positively to our collective energy and wellbeing.
We kindly require that all guests are registered in advance and commit to our community's wellbeing by digitally signing our Community Wellbeing Agreement as part of the registration online. This ensures that everyone who steps foot in our forest is aware of, and agrees to, the harmony we cherish.
We wholeheartedly believe in the integrity of our members and their choices. However, should a guest not abide by our community guidelines, we will have to ask them to leave without a refund. Furthermore, depending on the severity of the breach - especially in cases where guests are brought onto the property without prior registration - it may lead to the cancellation of the hosting member's membership agreement, also without a refund.
This policy is rooted in our dedication to preserve the peace, purity, and profound connection we share with nature and each other in Just Love Forest. It's about ensuring that every interaction within our forest strengthens the bonds of our community and the sacredness of our space.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this vital aspect of our community life, ensuring that Just Love Forest remains a sanctuary for genuine seekers and nature lovers.
12. Membership cancellation policy
- Members may cancel their membership at any time without penalty, ensuring flexibility and peace of mind. Should you ever decide to take a different path, just drop a friendly email to bala@justloveforest.com, letting us know if you'd like to cancel immediately or set a future date for your cancellation. We understand that life is full of changes, and we're here to support you through them. Please note, we don't offer mid-month or partial reimbursements. Your membership will continue to be active and fully accessible for 30 days after your last received payment, as long as your membership is in good standing.
13. Liability and Stipulation
- By agreeing to this membership, individuals waive any claims against Just Love for injury, loss, or damage that may occur as a result of your visit, participation in activities or use of the facilities.
- Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless Just Love, its employees, and volunteers from any liabilities arising from their actions or those of their guests.
14. Membership Flexibility Clause:
We hope every moment you spend with Just Love feels like a warm hug. But just like the forest, our community is always growing and changing. In the spirit of keeping our ecosystem vibrant and harmonious, we reserve the gentle right to cancel a membership at any time, with or without cause. This is something we'd only do as a last resort, and we'd handle it with as much care and respect as we do everything else in our forest family. It's all part of ensuring that Just Love remains a sanctuary for everyone who joins us, now and in the future. If such a situation arises, we promise to communicate openly and kindly, always with the wellbeing of our community at heart.
This agreement is designed to foster a supportive, respectful, and engaged community centered around the love of nature and personal growth. We thank you for your commitment to these principles and look forward to sharing in this journey together.
