  • Josh Wayne began his foraging journey 13 years ago, hoping to find edible, medicinal, and sacred mushrooms. Josh learned how to forage with the help of many knowledgeable mentors in the Atlanta (Pine Lake Eco Arts) and Athens (Wild Intelligence) area as he worked to deepen his connection with the plants and animals that inhabit the Georgia Piedmont. As an Atlanta native, he has foraged, prepared, and consumed over 100 species of mushrooms and an additional 150 species of plants from the Southeast. Josh serves as a World-bridger and Lead Sacrament Forager for Whole Inc. and works to connect both members and nonmembers to our plant, mushroom, and animal ancestors. If you want to learn about the mushrooms and plants here to nourish you, hike with Josh.

  • Hello, I'm Hara! I am a mother and lifelong student of what it means to be human upon Earth. Currently nestled at the intersection of three sacred rivers in Northwest Georgia, I am deeply rooted in Southern Appalachia, where the wild flora, fauna, and fungi have held me since birth. My childhood memories are infused with the sweet scent of honeysuckles, stained with Georgia red clay, and alive with the buzz of lightning bugs. Spring means spicy pink magnolia blooms, while fall is marked by the ripe fruit of the persimmon tree. From as far back as I can recall, I've been eager to know these lands, and they, in turn, have been eager to know me. But somewhere along the way the seasons stopped being marked by flowers and fruits and I found myself lost.

In 2018, I embarked on a healing journey, exploring various wellness trends, yet something always felt missing. Ordering supplements from around the world and following restrictive fad diets left me feeling depleted and deeply disconnected from the wisdom of my body and the lands beneath my feet. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I longed to taste honeysuckles once again.

I began spending time in the same spot every day, observing changes through all four seasons. This practice transformed everything for me. My narrow focus on individual health expanded to encompass an entire ecosystem. I rediscovered the joy of wild persimmons, made violet jams, roasted dandelion roots, and savored service berry pancakes. By listening to my body, I redefined what true nourishment meant to me.

I gradually shifted towards local consumption, forging relationships with regenerative farmers in the area. In this journey, I found my place, and I did it all through food.

I believe in food as a pathway back home. Through intentionally sourced ingredients, bold flavor profiles, storytelling, and guided sensory experiences, my aim is to go beyond simply feeding you, to nourishing your deep connection to the tapestry of all life.
