Come have a safe and authentic experience to rest, reset, and gently release the pace of modern life in Atlanta. Forest Therapy at Just Love Forest is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your senses, and remember a more natural rhythm of being human in relationship with the land.
Forest therapy, also known as forest bathing or Shinrin Yoku, is not about hiking, exercise, or achieving anything. It is a guided practice of presence. Through a series of simple, open ended invitations, you are supported in slowing your body, softening your attention, and allowing the nervous system to settle. The forest becomes a partner in this process, offering quiet support through sound, texture, scent, light, and stillness.
Guided by a certified forest therapy guide, you will also learn about the history of this land, the roots and lineage of forest therapy, and how these practices have been used across cultures as a way to restore balance, clarity, and well being. No prior experience is needed. You simply come as you are.
Once a month, we dedicate Sundays at Just Love Forest to guided group Forest Therapy experiences. These monthly Sundays are open to individuals, couples, families, and small groups, and are designed as accessible entry points into nature based healing and connection. Some people come alone for personal restoration. Others come with loved ones to share a slower, more intentional day together. All are welcome.
In addition to our monthly Sundays, we also offer private Forest Therapy day experiences for individuals, couples, families, and small groups. These private sessions can be shaped as personal retreats, relationship nourishment, grief support, celebration, or simply time away from the noise and demands of everyday life. The science behind forest therapy continues to grow. Research has shown that time spent in forest environments can reduce cortisol levels, lower blood pressure, and support heart health by calming the nervous system. Studies also suggest that exposure to forests increases activity in natural killer cells, an important part of immune function, while improving mood, focus, and emotional resilience. These benefits arise not from physical exertion, but from slowed breathing, sensory engagement, and time spent in environments rich with natural compounds released by trees. Forest therapy offers a gentle, evidence informed way to support whole body health in a world that often keeps us in a constant state of urgency.
We also offer private Forest Therapy experiences for corporate teams, nonprofits, and small organizations seeking a meaningful alternative to traditional retreats. These experiences support stress relief, burnout recovery, creativity, and healthier relational dynamics by bringing people into a shared, non competitive space in nature. Forest therapy is especially supportive for teams navigating transition, high emotional demand, caregiving roles, or sustained workload. Experiences can be customized for half day or full day formats and may include reflection, group dialogue, and integration time.
Just Love Forest is located approximately one and a half hours from Atlanta, making a restorative day trip both possible and deeply worthwhile. Many guests arrive feeling overstimulated, tired, or disconnected, and leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more at ease in themselves and in the world around them.
This is not about fixing yourself. It is about remembering what it feels like to belong to the living world again.
“Not just beautiful, though - the stars are like the trees in the forest, alive and breathing. And they’re watching me.”
